We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.

Compass, the student information system allows parents to receive regular updates, school reports, newsletters, notes and attendance snapshot information. It is a ‘one stop shop’ to receive all organisational, administrative information about the college and your child.

Parents Advisory Council

The college maintains a parents advisory council which aims to enhance the partnership between families and the college. The council’s role is to operate as a forum for future strategic planning and to provide the means for parents to have direct input into the direction and focus of the college.

The parent advisory council consists of members of the college leadership team and parents are invited to attend. Meetings are held on a regular basis. Notification regarding upcoming meetings are advertised through the college newsletter.

Revision at home is an important aid to learning at school. Regular homework will be set in all subjects and students need to develop the habit of personal study.

The college offers the following as a guideline for the average student:

Years 7 and 8:               1–1.5 hours per night
Years 9 and 10: 1.5–2.5 hours per night
Years 11 and 12: 3 hours per night

Details of homework are to be recorded in the Student Learning Journal. Close monitoring of homework and study by parents is extremely important. Students are expected to fill in the diary each lesson.
